Skin Care Magic

Hello,

I am back again with yet another product review. I have and still do suffer with acne and it honestly has the ability to just completely ruin my day. No matter how amazing that day is, if I have bad skin, my confidence level just drops completely low. I have beaten acne a few times in the past with antibiotics and fascial treatments, but nothing really worked. Until, I heard of Clinique’s Anti Blemish range and decided to give it a try.

Just a little background info about Clinique. Clinique is a skin care, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrance brand found in 1968, I have known them from a very young age due to the fact that my mom was and is still is obsessed with their skin care lines. Clinique launched a couple of innovative skin care solutions that cater to different kinds of skin ranging from dry, combination and oily skin as well as acne prone skin. A couple of years back, they launched their Anti-Blemish 3-step Solution System, which comprises of a Cleanser, Toner and a Moisturizer. Anyways, over my visit to Clinique, I explained to the sales lady about my skin time and the issues I am facing, the lady working there was very professional and knew exactly what I was talking about, long story short, she introduced me to the line, I fell in love with the concept and left with their travel size option.

Let’s start with the review…

Step one: Clinique Anti-Blemish Cleansing Foam 125 ml

As described on the Clinique website  ‘a mild cleansing foam which helps clear and prevent blemishes by removing dirt, excess oil and unclogs pores while soothing and calming the skin’. I am not a huge foam person, id usually prefer gels, however I was very impressed by it, it does exactly as described, in addition to it feeling soft and smoothing, which is always a plus. A pump or 2 does the job for me, it’s just very easy to use and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh.

Step 2- Clinique Anti-Blemish Clarifying Lotion 200 ml

The Clinique Website describes it as ‘a gentle effective formula which exfoliates to clear dead surface cells and reduces excess oils that lead to breakouts. Unclogs pores. Oil-absorbing powders eliminate shine. Soothes irritation, redness’. Just like the cleaning foam, the lotion does what it says in the describing however; it’s not as gentle as mentioned as it can sting a little due to its Alcohol content. It does have a strong alcohol smell, which goes to say this is an alcohol based toner. Nevertheless, it does not dry out the skin. I simply place a cotton pad at the top and tilt the bottle twice to get an adequate amount for my face. The active ingredient (the most important part of the toner) is at the bottom of the bottle when it is at rest which is why it is important to shake the bottle gently to ensure product is well mixed with the rest of the product.

Step 3- Clinique Anti-Blemish Clearing Moisturizer 50 ml

‘Lightweight, soothing formula helps treat existing blemishes, prevent future breakouts, control excess oil. Creates a barrier against blemish-causing agents. Lightly hydrates to minimize dryness, peeling.’ The sales lady claimed that this product both ‘controls oils’ and ‘prevents breakouts’, and to be honest she was 100% right. I really love how smooth and soft this moisturizer feels against my skin. It feels very light on application and it has this wonderful non-greasy feel, which is why I love it.

Additional Steps:

Anti-Blemish Solution clearing gel:

This is just an additional step, its used to apply either all over your skin or on a specific pimple; to dry it out and resize it. Clinique claims that ‘ Helps prevent new blemishes from making an unwelcome appearance. Make visibly clearer skin a way of life’. Its literally magic in a bottle, I love this product, it’s worth every penny. I just apply it on a pimple right after using the toner and once it dries I apply the Moisturizer to prevent the area from over drying, it is preferred to use it before going to bed. When I wake up the next day I do notice the pimple shrinking. I love this product!

Anti-blemish solution oil control mask:

Clinique describes it as a ‘soothing natural clay-based mask helps heal blemishes, prevent breakouts and keep skin shine-free. Medicated formula goes deep to clean and unclog pores, rid skin of excess oil. In just 5 minutes, skin looks clearer, smoother, less blemish-troubled. Gentle, non-drying formula won’t irritate skin. Oil free.’ it delivers as promised on the bottle; it cleans your skin without drying it out. I really enjoy using this product. It is recommended to use it at least twice a week. One of the best fascial masks I have ever used.

Anyways, at the time I bought the products my skin was a complete disaster. After using this for almost a year, I am happy to report that my skin has been restored to its previous condition. So, I would say it has worked for me in both clearing and preventing breakouts. However, I did not get an overnight effect. Disclaimer, your skin will at first reject the product and cause major breakouts, but as the sales lady explained to me, you shouldn’t panic and stop using it, my a week or two your skin will adapt to it and its going to work. Lastly, what works for me might not work for you, so make sure you consult the sales lady first before getting it and see what works for your skin type.

I hope you have enjoyed this review and I would love it hear about your opinion regarding this subject matter.
