How To Transition From Summer To Fall
Hello Fashion Lovers,
What’s your favorite season? Summer easily tops my list. While summer is in full swing right now, it’s time to start stocking up on some warm-weather essentials.
The period between summer and fall makes for one of the best and most exciting times of the year, but the tricky transition period in between the two seasons can cause quite a few style conundrums. Luckily, there are quite a few great clothing items that are perfect for transitioning your summer wardrobe into fall — and I rounded up some of the best (and most stylish) ways to easily transition.
Invest in basics that are not season specific:

Rule of thumb is to invest in classic pieces that can be worn year-round, as opposed to buying new clothes each season. Select a few versatile items that serve as the foundation of your wardrobe, and can be styled differently as the seasons change.
Layers, Layers, Layers:

Layering is the easiest and best way to transition from summer to fall: cardigans, turtlenecks, vests, and sweaters. When it comes to fall layers and accessories, invest in high quality fabrics like cashmere and wool that can be dressed up or dressed down.
Add deeper colors:

One way I love to bring some fall-inspired pieces into my wardrobe is through my color choices. Incorporating warmer toned colors such as wine, camel, black, dark green, navy, and grey into lighter clothing items is a great way to transition from summer to fall. Take a pastel dress, for instance, you don’t have to put it away for fall, simply add some heavier textures and jewel tones, you’ll be able to keep wearing it. Consider pairing it with a plum cardigan and a sleek pair of booties. Suddenly, the addition of a deeper color tones down the brightness, resulting in a more cohesive and fall-appropriate outfit.
Don’t underestimate accessories:

While warm, cozy layers are an easy add-on to summer outfits, accessories are also a great way to incorporate fall fashion into your wardrobe. Often, a simple scarf, wrap, shoe, handbag, or pair of tights can make the outfit more seasonally appropriate.
Incorporate fall shoe options:

Shoes are another great way to incorporate some fall style into your wardrobe. Tall boots may still be too heavy for fall, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t creative ways to incorporate them into your outfits. For instance, booties paired with skirts or dresses are a great way to add a fall touch to a lighter outfit.
I hope you enjoyed reading my top tips for transitioning your wardrobe from the summer to fall. Hopefully I have given you some inspiration to adapt clothing items you already own for the early fall season.
