Best of NY Fall/Winter 2017 Fashion Week
Hello my beautiful Brunette,,
This year’s Fall/Winter fashion week flew by so fast, all the designers presented amazing looks, which made it very difficult for me to choose who was my favorite. However, this year Marchesa grabbed my attention in the most astonishing way.
Just a little background info about the brand, it was established in 2004 by Georgina Chapman and Keran Craig. The brand has been worn by a number of Hollywood actresses on the red carpet including Penelope Cruz, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez and other amazing talented actresses. Marchesa is sold in high end department stores worldwide including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Net-a-porter.
Starting with tiaras and ending with the swish of what sounded like a hundred layers of tulle, the duo did not hold back with their new collection. Floor-sweeping gowns came dripping with sparkling embellishments, and even the softest looks, eye-catching 3-D organza. Color was the big story on the Marchesa runway, multicolored tassels, rainbow-toned embroidery, and red cherry blossom patterns, satin. The designers were inspired by China and period films as well as added a bit of Old Shanghai glamour to their romantic house style. Marchesa has reminded us that we are all queens of our worlds…
Below are some one the best looks presented in the show.
One of the best gowns here, for instance, was the black sheer one shoulder dress covered with silvery flowers that gave off a soft graphic effect, it just took my breath away; from the way it moved down the runway to the way it was perfectly tailored giving it that royal effortless look. What was your favorite look?
