5 Latest Trends
Hello Fashion Lovers,
2020 left its mark on everything, including the fashion industry! While 2020 was a quiet year for the fashion world; like who would have ever imagined that tie-dye sweat sets would ever become our uniform, its time to look forward to 2021’s new fashion trends, so far this New Year has unveiled seriously bold and stylish designs.
I would however like to say how proud I am of the fashion industry, with everything going on in the world, Fashion Month showcased a brave new take, from Insta releases to live streamed shows and to socially distanced in-person runway shows.
Keep scrolling down to view my top 5 favorite fashion trends of 2021.
- Wide-Leg Pants/Denim:
Say goodbye to skinny jeans, because this year its all about loose-fitting jeans! Wide-legged pants are more versatile and comfy and they are available in so many different designs/patterns.
- Oversized Shoulder Pad Boyfriend Jacket:
Taking inspiration from the 80’s, this fashion trend helps give the illusion of cinched waist and elongated legs. You can easily dress this up or down for an effortlessly chic aesthetic. I like to style it with a pair of straight-legged denim and either heel’s for a night out or white converse for an ultra-modern style.
- Outwear Loungewear
Thanks to 2020, I have become a complete advocate for comfort dressing, and I bet you all have been wearing your sweatpants out for a while now, and plus they have been seen all over the runway this season. I have been slowly acquiring my wardrobe with more practical pieces.
- Sweater Vests:
I have seen this trend all over the runways, from Louis Vuitton to Coach to Dior and Prada! Its an easy fashion piece that can transition your whole look, as for styling; I would pair it with an oversized shirt underneath or with a chunky sweater or even double layer with a trench coat on top for colder climates. You just have endless choices when it comes to layering!
- Head Scarves:
Taking inspiration from the 50’s and 60’s, this fashion trend is making a comeback and in a big way! I love this trend because it not only protects your hair but adds a finishing touch to your outfit and plus you have endless options to choose from; floral motifs, silky patterns or simple with bold colors. It can also be worn in different ways; either wrapped under your chin in a loose knot or hanging off the back of your head or even wrapped around your neck or bag… so many other cool ways to style it!
